Delegation of Josai International University Visits HUHST for Exchange

 

  

On the morning of April 4, 2023, a delegation from Josai International University (JIU) in Japan, led by Vice President Masato Kurabayashi and accompanied by Gong Wei (Deputy Director of the International Education Center), paid a visit to HUHST for academic exchange. The meeting was attended by Prof. Liu Tieming (Party Secretary of HUHST) and Prof. Chen Zhiguo (Member of CPC Committee and Vice President of HUHST). Leaders from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and the School of Foreign Studies, were also present at the meeting. Specific cooperation matters were discussed in a roundtable format, which was chaired by Prof. Chen Zhiguo.

Prof. Liu Tieming extended a warm welcome to Masato Kurabayashi and other members of the delegation, providing a brief overview of HUHST, covering aspects such as geographical features, academic programs, achievements, and international exchanges. Kurabayashi showed keen interest in the history and culture of Loudi City and expressed anticipation for deepening cooperation between the two universities.

During the discussion, both universities gave detailed and vivid presentations on their respective academic situations. Preliminary discussions on concrete collaborative projects, such as the "2+2" and "3+1+2" programs, took place. In the concluding moments, a consensus was reached to expedite the signing of a memorandum of understanding. Following the meeting, Masato Kurabayashi and other delegation members toured HUHST campus, including an art exhibition at the School of Fine Arts and Design, gaining a deeper understanding of HUHST.

The visit from JIU provides a conducive platform for friendly collaboration between HUHST and Japanese institutions. Through this visit, the two universities engaged in in-depth discussions about future collaborative directions, laying the groundwork for implementing cooperative projects in the future.

JIU, situated in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, operates under the management of Josai University, one of the earliest Japanese universities to engage in educational exchanges with China. It stands as the largest comprehensive private university in Chiba Prefecture, boasting two campuses respectively located in Chiba and Tokyo. JIU currently comprises seven teaching departments, eight master's programs, and three doctoral programs. Over the years, it has established friendly cooperative relationships with universities in 32 countries.
